Community Outreach Volunteers Needed!
Longview Heights is parting with the North America Missions Board (NAMB) to strategically reach the unchurched and lost in our community. During the month of March, we will be organizing subdivision prayer walks and distributing door hangers in our neighborhoods with information about the gospel message and about the ongoing ministries of Longview Heights. We need many volunteers to help with this endeavor. If you would be willing to help or need more information please contact Bro. Mark Cantrell, LHBC Community Outreach Minister, at mcantrell@longviewheights.org or call the church office 895-1900.

Shawl Ministry Testimony
Betty Cossey reports:
"On Tuesday 2/2/10 around 2:00 PM, Maxine Hughes, Carol Wells and I went to the Olive Garden Terrace Assisted Living on Old Goodman. Our purpose was to take the shawls and lap robes the shawl ministry had made to share with the people there. When we arrived, there were about 8-10 ladies in the foyer, gathered for story time. When we opened the bins with the shawls, they were so delighted! They had so much fun picking the ones they liked, discussing the best color for them, etc. After that, we went room to room. It was such a blessing! They were excited about the shawls, but more so about the conversation and the hugs we were able to share with them. As we were leaving, we stopped to talk to a lady who shared with us about her grandson being born 1lb 2oz. She ask us to pray for Him. As we looked down at the shawl bin, there was a blanket made with pastel colors just perfect for a baby! A God thing! We gave it to her with a promise to pray for the baby. We were short 7 lap robes for men, so we will be going back soon. If you should get a chance to go by, they would love a visit!"

The information on this website contains partial descriptions of various community mission efforts. It is in no way ALL INCLUSIVE of all mission and ministry activities at Longview Heights.
It is our desire that our membership would respond to the prompting of Gods will by becoming involvedoutside the structured walls of our campus. Gods plan is for the church to demonstrate Christ like love to our community by ‘being doers of the Word and not hearers only’ (James 1:22).
Individual: If you would like to volunteer to work and serve in one of our community ministry opportunities please contact Bro. Mark Cantrell at mcantrell@longviewheights.org or call 662-895-1900.
Group: Even better… challenge your Sunday School class to pray about a local mission project you could do on your own. There are many hurting and needy people living right here in our area that are desperate for truth and hope. We have the answer.
Go, Testify, Invite, Encourage, Comfort, Care, and LOVE !
